- collectibles and memorbilia. Enter up to 2 billion records into
- the database which uses ISAM and B-Tree indexing system for very
- fast searches and reports. Program features include two quick
- reports, user-configurable video and printer support including
- laser printers, full mouse support, built-in screen saver,
- zoom-able Find window, and much more. Requires 512K and about
- 700K. Can be run from floppies but recommend a hard disk to
- inscrease speed.
-
-
- INSTALLATION
- ƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒ
- Installation is very simple. Make a directory on your hard
- drive. Assuming your hard drive is 'C:', type 'CD\' to go to
- your root directory. Type 'MD MEMORB', then unzip all files
- into this new directory.
-

- ƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒ
- If your an experienced pc user, you should be able to dive right
- in and use MY MEMORBILIA right away. We have included some
- sample data so you can try out the program before you are ready
- to use your own data. The program was designed to be very
- straight forward and easy to use yet extremely robust with a
- capacity of 2 billion records.
-
- However, there are is an area that may need further explanation.
- One is the 'Find' selection from the Memorbilia database. This
- is a very powerful and flexible option. You can use it to find
- records in your database, browse through your database in a
- table view, or view two records on the screen at the same time.
- The Find window can be resized and/or moved to the side if you
- like.
-

-
- THE DATABASE
- ƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒ
- The database will hold up to 2 billion records and is managed
- by a B-Tree (I.S.A.M.) method. This is one of the fastest and
- best methods available today.
-
- Database Commands:
-
- Next : Moves to the next record.
- Previous: Moves to the previous record.
- Find : Allows you to select a record from the database or
- shows you the whole database in a find window from
- which you can choose a record. If you leave the find
- text area blank, the window pops up so you may browse
- in table fashion. Tab key lets you view the fields to
- the right and shift+tab to go left. This window is
- resizeable and moveable. Try out this feature and you
- will find it is a very powerful and useful tool.

- offered the choice of continuing with the deletion,
- Choose Y (yes) to continue or <ESC> to cancel.
- Quit : Quit database and go to the Main Menu.
-
-
- REPORTS
- ƒƒƒƒƒƒƒ
- All reports may be viewed on screen or sent to the printer via
- prn, lpt1, or lpt2. There are two built-in reports.
-
- The 'Form' report produces a report identical to the data
- entry format. This will be alphabetized by Item Type. The 'Form'
- report include all records in the database.
-
- The 'Columnar' report produces a report which includes the Item
- Type, Description, Item Condition, Original Cost, and Current
- Value. Likewise, this report will be alphabetized by Item Type
- and include all records in the database.
-
- The registered version includes an ad-hoc report feature, import
- and export capabilities. The ad-hoc report enables you to
- choose fields in reports and gives you almost unlimited
- flexiblity in report selections.
-
- Remember, if all you want to do is find a record in the
- database, use the Find function in the database.
-
-
- UTILITIES
- ƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒ
- The utilities section includes choices to set printer
- and fix the database (reindex) your database.
-
- The Set Printer choice enables you to set up for your printer.
- There are several predefined printers including HP Lasers, IBM,
- Epson and others. If your printer is not listed, you may enter
- the printer codes. These should be found in your printer
- manual. This will enable you superior flexibility in the kind
- of output you may want.
-
- If your indexes become corrupted or damaged, use the Fix
- Database to reindex your database. The indexes can be damaged
- due to power failures, abnormal termination of program, or other
- unusual and rare occurences. If at any time you can not find a
- record in your database that you know is there, reindex the
- database.
-
- THE SHAREWARE CONCEPT
- ƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒ
- "Shareware" is copyrighted software which is distributed by
- authors through bulletin boards, on-line services, disk vendors,
- and copies passed among friends. It is commercial software
- which you are allowed to try out before you pay for it. This
- makes shareware the ultimate in money back guarantees.
-
- Most money back guarantees work like this: you pay for the
- product and then have some period of time to try it out and see
- whether or not you like it. If you don't like it, or find it
- doesn't do what you need, you return it (undamaged) and at some
- point - which might take months - you get your money back. Some
- software companies won't even let you try their product! In
- order to qualify for a refund, the diskette envelope must have
- an unbroken seal. With these "licensing" agreements, you only
- qualify for your money back if you haven't tried the product!
-
- Shareware is very different. With shareware, you get to try it
- for a limited time, without spending a penny. You are able to
- try it on your own system(s), and in your own special work
- environment. If you decide not to continue using it, you throw
- it away and forget all about it. No paperwork, phone calls, or
- correspondence to waste your valuable time. If you do continue
- using it, then - and only then - do you pay for it.
-
- Shareware is a distribution method, NOT a type of software.
- Shareware is produced by accomplished programmers, just like
- retail software. There is good shareware and bad shareware, just
- as there is good and bad retail software. The primary
- difference between shareware and retail software is that with
- shareware you know if it's good or bad BEFORE you pay for it.
-
- As a software user, you benefit because you get to try the
- software and determine whether it meets your needs before you
- pay for it, and authors benefit because they are able to get
- their products into your hands without the hundreds of thousands
- of dollars in expenses it takes to launch a traditional retail
- software product. There are many programs on the market today
- which would never have become available without the shareware
- marketing method.
-
- The shareware system and the continued availability of quality
- shareware products depend on your willingness to register and
- pay for the shareware you use. It's the registration fees you
- pay that allow us to support and continue to develop our
- products.
-
- Please show your support for shareware by registering those
- programs you actually use and by passing them on to others.
-
- Shareware is kept alive by YOUR support!
